So much to do and so little time....here's just a taster of what you can do in this lovely area.  Enjoy a long weekend or combine some of the itineraries for a week or two's trip.

 

 

Time to de-stress and relax

 

>> Day 1. after a lie-in and relaxing breakfast, talk an hour of two's walk along the nearby trails, stopping in a rustic hut to sample the local produce.  In the afternoon go for a relaxing swim and massage at one of the town's spas, before a enjoying a gourmet dinner at one of the area's many great restaurants. 

>> Day 2, visit the French city of Strasbourg for some sightseeing and shopping and stop to savour some of the Alsacien specialities. 

>> Day 3, take a trip back in time to the Black Forest farmhouse museum where you can learn about some of the old traditions and way of life, and on the way back stop for some wine tasting in the scenic vineyards of Durbach.

 

 

An adrenalin rush

 

>> Day 1, wake up feeling refreshed and ready to take on a day packed with activities.  Pack lots of water and energy bars for a day's mountain bike tour taking in some of the local sights along the way and stopping for a refreshing beer (or two) before heading back. 

>> Day 2, try your hand at paragliding and experience some of the stunning scenery from above before coming back down to earth for an afternoon of local wine and schnapps tasting. 

>> Day 3, take it a bit easier and learn nordic walking or take a hike in the forests and finish the day with a relaxing meal in a local restaurant.

 

 

Winter wonderland

 

>> Day 1, take in the scenery of snow covered pine trees and refreshing mountain air and enjoy a day on the slopes skiing or snowboarding. 

>> Day 2, learn how to cross-country ski and take a tour around one of the many cross-country skiing trails in the area before stopping for a warming gluhwein and hearty dinner. 

>> Day 3, head to one of Baden-Baden's famous spas for a few hours of relaxation and pampering and then enjoy a spot of shopping in the town's glamorous shops.

Children's playground

 

>> Day 1, the children will love the rides and fun at Europa park, Germany's biggest theme park - you'll need a day to get around it! 

>> Day 2, treat the kids to an adventure in the forest at the 2km unique tree climbing course in Kenzingen, where even the small ones can enjoy a taste of the forest in the play area. 

>> Day 3, take a pony trek through the forest and stop for a picnic along the way.
